Wow - I know you are frustrated - but was the
uppercase/super-punctuation/random abbreviations 'necessary' to those who
are your peers and whom you are seemingly asking for assistance?

Have you simply tried uninstalling said updates and/or using System Restore
to go back to BEFORE you installed the updates? Changing your 'Automatic
Updates" to be more selective and thus - you can choose what updates you
install? Followed by installing ONE update at a time - rebooting and
determining which of the updates cause your issues?

Yes, I want to thank Microsoft too. I have tried and cannot fix this. I got
an e-mail, that goes on and on with tech talk and can't believe after almost
a week they haven't done anything.

Do you work for Microsoft or what? I trusted them with all my data (credit
card numbers, account numbers, passwords, etc...) and now I have to fix my
computer because they failed? I went 2 or 3 days before I really realized
something was very wrong. I couldn't get into my on-lone bank. It didn't
recognize my computer. I think asking Microsoft after almost a week to fix
this is not a crime.

I just about had it and flew off the handle. But I don't like the tone of
Stanley's posts. I have tired to go with Firefox the last 2 days,. But I am
so use to Microsoft I couldn't get with Mozilla. Maybe I will try again. I
will call the help number in the morning.

Wow - I have *no idea* how you took what I asked so wrongly - but it was a
simplistic question with a simplistic suggestion that could help you with
your issue.

Uninstalling the problem updates and not automatically getting them again
and then getting them one at a time will better pinpoint which update
(specifically) is causing issues. I am unsure how there is a 'tone' to a
text message. My signature does not change - so if you take that
personally - it wasn't aimed at you.

As for working for Microsoft - no. I am a volunteer here - a user just like
you in many ways. I do troubleshoot computer problems daily and I share my
knowledge and experience at troubleshooting such things on these newsgroups
as well.

While I understand your frustration with your problems - I do not feel I
deserve the brunt of your hostility simply for asking a question and making
a logical troubleshooting suggestion... Since you did not specify what you
had/had not tried in order to resolve your issue - I could not know - so I
would naturally start at the beginning and easiest thing to try.

I am interested - both from gayboylaca and Tresa - just what about my
posting offended you? Was it the question about what you had tried? The
suggestion of trying what I specified and then troubleshooting by installing
the updates manually and selectively? Was it my signature? Was it the fact
that I had 'snipped' the original message (as this was started as a response
by Tresa to another posting) in my response? I cannot see how any of that
should be taken personally by either of you - as all I am trying to do is
help.

Understand that volunteering in this newsgroup can be very stressful
when you are just that.. a volunteer.
