bored with one whole theme? Noooooo

I cant believe you.. lol

get hundrends of themes with this
www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/

then go to www.wincustomize.com to see the themes

shareware = $19

Free alternatives are not ready for SP1 and not very dependable

Can you find one single theme on that site please, that is not some garish
tacky amateur piece of crap? They are all made by teenage boys in their
bedrooms, and the style of the themes reflect that. Skinning is for kids.

The only app that I have ever used a skin on is Winamp, and I only ever
found *one* good third-party skin for it.

Seriously, I'd like to know what you consider 'good', when you think IE7 has
a bad interface, whereas I think it is very good.

I don't like those skins either, and I don't like using a third party
program, but you have to understand that some skinners are expert graphic
artists, and skinning is becoming a sort of art form. Microsoft and other
big companies like Disney, nvidia and ati have paid large amounts of cash to
these people you refer to as kids. see here
http://www.theskinsfactory.com/skinsfactory/

The themes I do use on xp and on vista before sp1 were from deviantart.com
and they used a patch to enable 3rd party themes using the built in theming
service of windows;

But basically the only reason I do use themes from time to time is that I
get bored having the same desktop for too long. Usually I just have classic
on xp, but on Vista classic is actually slower in rendering than aero so I
have aero.. although the colors are horrid in aero and I have seen the theme
so many times I find it revolting now.

It seems to me that you are ignorant theming too. Not very surprising... you
don't seem to know much about anything, and the things that you think you
know, you have a very distorted - disturbing view about them.

the interface of IE7 is not simply bad.. its HORRID, STUPID, A FREAKSHOW OF
BAD IDEAS CRAMMED UP INTO ONE INTERFACE. I thereby nominate the IE interface
along with the vista start menu and the office 07 ribbon as the 3 most
stupid GUI designs ever to be conceived by man.

I wont take the time again to analyze all the reasons why... IE bores me, it
has nothing to offer and it seems that ie8 will follow the steps of ie7, and
with this MS shows clearly that they are incompetent for learning and
listening to the thousands upon thousands that absolutely hate the IE7
interface.

IE7 stinks big time... the interface is totaly stupid, sure it may be ok for
browsing a few pages, but you cant really use it for serious web surfing.

also:
http://www.news.com/8301-10784_3-990...=2547-1_3-0-20

The folks over at Mozilla had another reason to celebrate Monday, reports
Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet, a CNET News.com sister site. A new study by
Forrester Research shows market share of the Firefox browser has doubled
among enterprise users in the past year. It now stands at 18 percent.

I must note that enterprise users will most probably have lots of ie6 still
too..

Just out of curiosity; what exactly is, "serious web surfing"?

I'm just wondering if I've been doing it wrong all these years.

I have no aversion to any browser and will use any that is available, so I'm
not getting into the "this one is better, that one sucks" silliness, I'd
just like to know how a browser would affect "serious web surfing" and the
implied "casual web surfing".

Thanks,
Mic

Example: I am talking about having 50+ tabs open at the same time...

a limited number of tabs of stupid ie7 can only fit in one line, after that
in order to access, them you either have to use the drop down menu, or the
quicktabs. Both of these solutions are silly to the real power surfer. I
mean with IE7 you cane even use the scroll wheel to flip through the
tabs.... PATHETIC!

To make things even WORSE with the CRAP IE7 interface, the tab bar has been
infested with other icons
for favorites, rss, tools etc... Some you can hide ok.. but the fav icons
not..

AvantBrowser (avantbrowser.com) (a trident browser shell) Maxthon, and
FireFox with the TAB MIX add on can have multiple layers of tabs (lines of
tabs). https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1122, giving you a
huge number of tabs and visible tab buttons, the number of these limited
only to how much RAM you have and screen real estate. With screens like 30
inch LCD,
you can imagine that you can accelerate searching viewing of information a
great deal than having only one line of tabs.. YUCK!!!

I have yet to find an extension that will allow IE7 to have multiple tabs
with its current interface.

Also you would need total control over flash, scripts etc so you can control
how much cpu all these pages will use..
Although there is an add-on for IE7 called IEpro that does add some
functionality,
you cannot compare this to the wealth of built in features that AvantBrowser
has, or the immense extendibility with firefox+add ons.

There are tens of little things IE7 just cant do, or there is no extension
to enable IE to do it.. sorry.. if you
are satisfied with IE, you cannot be a power user!

I mean with firefox + add ons you can do almost ANYTHING imaginable with the
browser! I mean the flexibility of IE7 compared to FF is 1 to 10.000 lol.

I have yet to find an extension that will allow IE7 to have multiple **LINES

with its current interface.
