I have been using Vista Media Center for several years now and I am
happy with it. I know there have been changes in the new Windows 7
version. What I am asking, is there a necessity to upgrade and change
my system over to windows 7 media center instead of the older vista
media center? Is it really worth the effort???

Thanks,

I peeked at it in Win7... looked mildly nicer... but I didn't see anything
that would make me want to upgrade by 2005 system.

Thanks for the response! Wow you still use 2005 and I thought I was
old. Well you are noted. I hear so many raves about the Windows 7
version but, I am content with the vista version I use without any
updates at all since it appeared to me updates were hurting the
sysytem. I guess I will stay with old reliable!!!!!!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it! :-)

It's possible there could be some stability updates in there. (though maybe
not). For example, I use a pair of 360's as MCE's, and every now and again
they'll hang hard in the middle of playback.

It might be true that Win7 might fix that. But I don't know that for sure
(and it happens rarely enough that it would be hard to verify for certain.)

If you're not experiencing any issues, I would do nothing. (That's what I'm
doing at least.)

I agree with you. I think I will do nothing. It has been going for
years without the updates and well it runs fine!!!
