Is There Any Decent Universal IM Client under Vista?

I'm running Vista Ultimate and was wondering if there was a decent universal
instant messenger (IM) client out there that would make my access to
Microsoft Messenger, AIM, Facebook Chat, etc. transparently available --
that is to give me one standard interface for all of the IMs I currently
years? A buddy of mine claims that Apple/Macintosh is ultimately successful
this whereas Vista falls flat on its face -- he's not right is he?

Why not ask your "buddy" what specific "universal instant messenger"
he's referring to since natively Vista does not include any IMs?

See
http://www.techsupportalert.com/best...ing-client.htm
and there are other reviews if you Google for "universal instant messenger".

It is up to you to choose which style of interface you prefer, and they
may well work under Vista even if Vista is not officially listed as
supported.

He is now a Macintosh fan -- and is not available online right now or I
would. I recall it starting with either "At" or "Al"

I personally use Trillian. It doesn't cover facebook on my version, but
the new beta that just released does.
