Is there any way to change the boot time resolution?

Is there any entry in the BCD that controls the default resolution displayed
durring boot time? I'm looking to change it from the current standards
800x600 or 1024x768 to a HDTV compatible resolution of 720x480, or 1280x780?
This information has to be coded and stored somewhere in some config file so
if it's not in the BCD could you kindly point me to the file I would need to
edit to change this?

No, it's not possible. At this point in the startup process the least
common denominator is in play since no hardware drivers have been loaded
yet.

Whats next, you want to change the bios boot up screen too? lol

its low res for a reason.. can you try to guess what it is?

At that point in the XVGA display being handled by windows or it is being
driven by pure hardware on the video card? I ask this and the original
question because of an issue I'm having with a media pc I setup. Since the
VGA standard has been in place for many many years all software and hardware
is manufactured to use some form of standard VGA for the boot process, this
is an issue when you run DVI out on the PC to HDMI in on a newer HDTV. Since
HDMI in on my HDTV isn't set to accept standard VGA as an input resolution
instead it will only use HD resolutions 720x480, 1280x720, and 1920x1080. At
boot time since the media pc doesn't use one of these resolutions my TV
screen fades to black shortly after the BIOS post message because it loses
the signal and ignores anything being sent in a non native format. This for
some reason causes the computer to hang as well my best guess is it's
probably looking for a monitor and can't find it. So the only input
resolution that conforms to the VGA standard is the WXGA resolution of
1280x720 so that's what I was looking to change the default boot resolution
to so the pc would boot and I wouldn't lose the display during that process.
My current workaround to this is to have the media pc plugged into an AV
receiver that upconverts the standard boot resolution to one that is accepted
by the TV then retransmits that to the television, the problem with this
setup is that the current nVidia drivers for my video card do not handle HDCP
correctly when running through a pass-through device so whenever I try to
watch a blu-ray dvd I get a message stating my monitor is not HDCP compliant.
I know everything is compliant though because 1) I can watch a blu-ray from
my ps3 which also runs through the receiver to the tv. 2) after boot if I
unplug the DVI to HDMI from the receiver and plug it directly into the PC I
can then watch a blu-ray dvd from the PC. So basically I need some guidance
here on who I need to talk to or where I need to submit a request for
enhancement for those of us that run media pcs that are directly connected to
an HDTV via HDMI to get a special "boot time graphics" library or whatever to
fix this issue.
