Is there any way to use windows update 2 update a xp comp from a v

I need to update a computer that I just formatted and installed xp pro on. It
previously had vista on it. I cannot connect to the internet with that
computer for unknown reasons. Is there anyway to get the updates and
additional drivers for that computer through a different computer that uses
vista? I don't know what drivers that it needs. If only the internet would
work i cold fix it through a download from the manufacturers website that
would scan the computer and download what was approriate but I just can't
seem to get the broadband connection to work on the xpwhen it works on the
vista fine.

It simply doesn't work that way, Ginny. It sounds like the machine itself
isn't WinXP-compatible.

Where did you get the WinXP Pro CD(s)?

You may want to have a look for Windows XP drivers for that machine
on the vendor's support website. If they don't offer any XP drivers for
your machine, ...
