Hi, jOHX.

http://windowsvistablog.com/

It was RTM (Released to Manufacturing) on 2/4/08, but it will take some time
to actually press and package the disks for retail sale. Computer
manufacturers will take a few days to get SP1 onto the computers they sell.
And it will take a few weeks for Microsoft to get it onto Windows Update.

Short answer for most users: Mid-March

Hold not your breath.
The differences after SP1 are less than visible.
Vista remains Vista: slow, incompatible with many programs and plagued by
many substandard drivers.

Not here, all my drivers work, and I've not found anything that won't run on
RTM Vista. I could even go 64-bit now as there are drivers for all my
hardware.

Maybe your system needs upgraded? I am running both Vista Ultimate 32 bit
and 64 bit on this computer, and both are fasssst. (no SP1 installed as I
am not a beta tester)
