Is there a mailing list for windows updates?

I am looking for a way to find out about critical/security updates as soon as
Microsoft releases them, not when my remote servers pop-up saying an update
is available. Does microsoft offer an email notification service for updates?

In addition to the other response..
Microsoft sticks pretty closely to the "2nd Tuesday of each month" release
date.
