There must be a way to be sure all Vista and W7 system files are signed
(not corrupted). I've researched and have not found a way. Can anybody
help?

Try the SFC commmand. See this tutorial: 'SFC /SCANNOW Command - Syste

Thank you. However, I've done exactly that and it stops at 56% and a
message tells me that it cannot complete or perform this process. Do you
know of any way to find out why it does this? Thanks again....

Thanks, but I don't have Windows 7 - which is what this article is about.
I'll have to look for a "Repair Install" for Vista Home Premium (unless
you already know where to go). Thank you......

I believe it should be the same for Vista. Simply perform an Upgrad
while in Windows
