I know I can go through Control Panel > Performance Information and Tools >
Advanced Tools > View advance system details in System Information but this
is hard to ask a user to do when providing support. (I provide remote support
for our company and some run Vista).

open the start menu and type "system" in the search box, then Hit Enter key.

Or just type msinfo32 into the search line when you click the start orb. The
search box incorporates all the functionality of the runbox, it's sort of a
redundant thing now.
