What an idiotic story...Windows automatically patches Windows Update, and
the writer claims that's an outrage.
If Windows didn't patch Windows Update, they would howl about that.
These dweebs that want "total control" of the computer should learn to write
their own Operating System, then they will be totally independent.
But they cant.
So they whine.
Even if Windows asked first, the only interaction he missed out on was to
click YES, update my Windows Update.

And that is a very important interaction. It's extremely important.

Privacy, Security and Stability concerns, which seem to all zoom right
over your head, taken aside...there are also people who still only can
get Dialup and/or Satellite internet connections.

Especially with satellite connections, which tend to have download
quotas, uninvited downloads can be extremely disruptive and cause massive
problems.

Oh
That wasn't the complaint in the article.
Its called whining.

They can dump Windows if they don't like it.
If its a corporate situation, then quit.

whining about it is like griping about the weather.

If someone doesn't like the way Windows operates...write your own OS.
I'll call them Backseat Computer Tech's, akin to backseat drivers, aka
Armchair Quarterbacks.

Why...Ubuntu is not immune to viruses, spyware or any other malware. It is
an urban myth that Linux/Unix/Macs are
not vulnerable to threats.

Yeah, you'll be one of the zealots that will come back and yada yada yada
yourself to death, but it won't change the fact that
Ubuntu is not immune.

You can live in that fantasy world if you wish...

Compared to Windows, both the Mac and Linux are bullet proof. Hundreds
of thousands of Windows boxes in herd bots that bring you and me spam
and viruses are proof.
