Hi,

There's no announcement or even speculation coming from Microsoft, but at a
guess I'd say that the likelyhood is pretty high that there will be a Vista
SP3.

SP3 is probable, but the timing would be strictly guesswork.

Why bother?

Windows7 fixes many issues and trying to repair a dead hrose that Vista is,
is a waste of life.
Some things should not be bought ever, e.g. cheap Chinese-made plastic crap
at Walmart that destroys our (USA) manufacturing jobs
And some things ought to be bought peridoically e.g. OS software made here
in Washington.

To me the best money ever spent were on my car, laptop, software,
self-storage (rent) and to help my parents, who in turn maintain my mental
well-being (+ free apartment & food).

Get Windows7 when it's out and stop being silly. Lif eis larger than
worrying ServicePacks for a failed OS.

Windows 7 is less tweakable than Vista so I know where I'm going to
stay.

Take no notice. Vista was a flop for some people but a huge success fo
others. Right now I prefer it over Windows 7, but it's a tight race...

To go back to the original question, Microsoft publishes their servic
pack life cycles for all to see here:

"Why bother?"

Have you ever heard of customer service? You're not the only one one that
has Vista. BTW, I like it just fine.
