Is there a way to keep Windows Update v5?

Hi!

I have a problem with the new Microsoft Update.
As soon as the new Microsoft Update v6 Software Applet
has been downloaded and it starts to install, the
Computer locks up and reboots.

Is there a way to keep using the "old" Windows Update v5
without installing Microsoft Update?
