There's a 45-65 second delay when first opening mail

Whenever I open Vista mail for the first time after booting up, there is a
45-65 second wait for it to fully open and be functional. I do not have it
get new mail or newsgroup messages. I just have it open with no other
activity. Any ideas? I'm on a brand new computer with Vista Home Premium.
