Will they ever correct the (s) bug?

Since I don't know when, I always realized, that you can't input the sleepy
half-moon emoticon thingy by typing (s), only with (S). For every other
emoticon-shortcut, it works in lowercase and uppercase, too. (At least for
those, which are one-letter-in-parentheses codes.)

In the MSN Messenger 7.0 BETA I submitted this feedback through the
BetaPlace site. Since then, I haven't been a part of any Messenger betas.

Greetings,

It's not a bug, it's by design.

Mainly because if say:
Did you pick up the orange(s)?

The emoticon would appear for the (s) and make the sentence look wrong. It's actually a
specific exception put in, not an oversight.

I see...

Well, it makes sense now, probably I didn't realize this, since I never IM
in English.

How did you know this one?

Thanks,
Szajd

Hi,

Yeah I was actually just thinking about that as I was writing the post earlier -- really
wouldn't affect non-English speakers.

As for knowing, when you're MVP of a product for 5 years you pick up a few things . In
this particular case I think it just hit me one day (whilst day dreaming or something).
