Has anyone considered having a pretty powerful computer as the "server" with
a couple thin clients around the house?
Wireless connectivity would be a must.
Anyone have any thoughts on how to set this up?

Hi Matthew,

I have 3 thin client computers in my house, each with 24" monitors. One is a
netbook, the other 2 are actual thin clients (no hard drive). We're using a
wireless router.

I have a Dell T100 server with 4 GB of RAM. It's an entry level server. It
is running Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition. I bought a 5-pack of
TSCALs. I'm using RDP, not Citrix ICA,

We can also access the server when anyone of us is not at home.

There's not really much to set up.
Here what you need essentially.

Windows Server 2008 with terminal services client access licenses (TSCALs).
Buy them from the Dell/HP/xx when you buy the server.
Wireless router.
External backup drive.
Thin client computers with wireless connections, or cheap netbooks
Large monitors.
Set up user accounts on the server.
