All the answers I've seen so far could easily be posted by an AI bot.
I guess this because when asking real questions that can't be answered with
a canned response, including some ancient <knowledge base article>, none
reply.

I guess you've too much time. Please don't reflect your frustration
you have with installing the latest security update on other people.
Otherwise I may ask you, how much you've paid for the answers or how
many users you've helped in the past.

Thanks consideration,
Freu"Marcus, is it you?"di

That's something I would expect to hear from someone such as yourself who
has been trolling this newsgroup for the past several days, and posting
exaggerated information as a result of his own ineptness.

Yes, yes we are... Each and every last one of us doesn't actually devote
countless hours to learning and sharing the things we learn. Each one of us
are not recognized by more than just Microsoft for our willingness to share
and learn. In fact we're all just a bunch of compute cycles being used to
make it look like there are real people responding. Instead of coding
security updates and more software the engineers at Microsoft are hard at
work coding AI bots that appear to be almost human. They then send them out
in droves to code software, lead online and offline forums and discussion
groups, develop sites, and help countless users daily.

In fact this whole message is a cut/paste response from a hidden KB article
back in the 3.1 days...

Now, did you have a question? (The use of copy/paste and clipboard tools is
a great asset to the efficacy of the typical active newsgroup poster. Most
of us will have all sorts of information readily available and when needed
will paste it into the message with a clipboard manager - most of us include
some additional information if it's needed as well.) So, if you have a
question someone will likely try to help you so long as you're clear and
exact with your question and aren't being aggressive in your posting.

Well I would like for one of the experts here or from Microsoft support to
fix the problems with the updates and post a way to get my machine back to
what it was before I downloaded the ones the update said was for me.. I run a
WEin 98 SE and this update dropped something that has me locked out of doing
any updating of anything important to fix or scan with anything on the net
with out administrator rights.. There is no Administrator on this PC or a
password.. Never has been.. No problems until this latest update bunch in
January, 7 criticals and security ones that site scannned my comp and said I
needed! Once installed and comp reconfigured, I cant do anything and cannot
change it back! I was told by the comp tech that built my machine that it is
Microsofts updates that did and I have to reformat and redo my whole computer
to get it running right again!!! Microsoft did it and they should pay for
the repairs!! I am not the only one who has this problem!!! So If there is
a person here that can fix this before costing me $200, please send a fix...

F-off
I have been here trying to get my machine fixed and help people along the
way by sharing what I know and whatever works, if it ever does.

I was being 100% serious about AI and if you knew anything at all about AI
(I write AI code myself), you would know this.

Ineptness?

I've been working on computer hardware and software since the mid 1980's now
design systems (ASIC IP design).

Microsoft has some serious issues to resolve related to updates and they are
not satisfactorily addressing them.
Time to discuss this circus with the media.

First of all, reformatting and starting over will likely NOT fix this, so
don't waste your time.

I suggest backing out all recent updates until Microsoft takes
responsibility and fixes this.

They did not even call me for a phone appointment that was set up with
reasearch, so I am now going to the press with this crap.

Been going on for two weeks and I have a ton of info the press would love to
get their hands on.

Oh, and open a support call, please!

Thanks
