Gurus,

I think the Vista interface is horrible. While I don't mind the improved
driver support, why is the "Up" button missing inside Windows Explorer?
Furthermore, why can't I go back to using classic folders in the Explorer
shell to make it look just like XP? Microsoft has gotten this interface
VERY WRONG.

You are the only person that thinks that spin. You'll get used to the
different look soon enough.

It's very easy to set the GUI bak to the classic look.
My Vista desktop and my Win2k desktop are almost identical

I agree with the start menu... I wish I could have it like XP. I don't like the 'classic' style as
an alternative.

For the length of time that we had to wait for Vista, I think they could have done a much better
job!!

Just my 2 cents

I believe I switched to DOS at version 3.1. They have not had a change
that I ever liked when I first started working with it. Some were OK, most
were improvements. All ended up being at least OK after I had time to learn
to use them and bend them to my will or learn to like them for what they
were.

Change is a part of life. The only way of avoiding it is to die.

Spin,

If you prefer the look and feel of XP you should go back to XP. Vista
is a different OS and therefore is not intended to look like XP.
If you don't like the new you can always go back to the old.

I wonder what might have happened if Vista had come out before XP, and then
Microsoft came out with XP; how many people would be complaining about the
'awful' XP.....

You can't say that. Driver support is improved. M$ would never reduce
their driver support or remove features. I am talking about the interface.
Some things are cool yes, but why did they have to change Explorer so much?
That's what eats at me and I complain to everybody I meet about the awful
Explorer interface and the lack of ability to go back to an XP-style
Explorer. And WHY did they remove Explorer's "UP" button??????
