Not for everyone. I'm still unable to signin.
Lucky for you though!

well I guess I spoke too soon, I lost my internet connection and when I went
back to log in again it was giving me the errors. I still suspect they now
know what exactly the problem is and are probably workin on it now.

Greetings,

You can also try this.

Go to Start, run, then type "regedit"

Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\microsoft\MSNMessenger\ Policies

Delete the key "contacts.msn.com"

Then, try launching Windows Live Messenger again.

This resolved the problem

I was not able to log on Live 8.0 and have these 2 error code.
I was able to log on to Messenger 7.5 just fine, logon to Hotmail , Live
website just fine etc. I install uninstall7.5 then install Live 8.0 again,
do the regedit and delete contacts.msn.com. Launch Live 8.0, logon to Live
messenger success.

Thank you very much
