I have IE 7 B3 (same problem in IE 7 B2) on XP. When I attempt to stream a
video on Video aol site or msn video site, I only receive audio and a green
screen where the video show display. Sometimes the whole thing resets and
starts over. I have read all the posts of others with similar problem and
tried all solutions to no avail. This also happens on some new video sites.

Thanks for the quick reply Sandi

    I have tried:

    1. The solution that "under Tools>Internet Options>Advanced turn off alll
multimedia boxes and quit IE. Restart IE and turn the multimedia options
    back on. Did not work.
    2. Tried robert Aldwinckle solution to reset security settings for the
internet zone to the default level.
    3. Uninstalled the flashplayer 8 using the uninstaller from adobe site and
    reinstalled it.
    4. Uninstalled Windows Media Player 11 and reinstalled it.
    5. Tried Nabil's solution to check the automatic detect setting on the Lan
Settings, Connection tab, close IE, then open Window Media Player, clisck on
plug-ins option, click on the player tab, add a check to connect to the
internet; then open ie7 click on tools, open internet option, click on the
connection tab, click on lan settings & remove the check on automatic detect
    settings.

Thanks for listening, but none of the above solutions work for me. I'll try
    anything.

That's quite common if the site knows you have a low-speed link.
E.g. better to at least get complete sound than spotty sound and video.

What kind of link do you have?

    Thanks Robert,
I have time warner cable, if that's what you mean by link. It's definately
high speed so maybe the site is not recognizing me correctly. I have no
problems with some other streaming video sites.

    Hi Jerry,

You're not going to like this.. .the only reliable fix that I have found on
my network is to install XPSP2 afresh and then IE7.

There is a codec or setting that is borked, but I have not been able to
track down precisely what it is :(
