delete a message from junk folder: an unknown error has occured

  1. Running WLM 2012 (all updates) on a Windows8PRO 64bit system.
    WLM mainly works ok and i see no difference to Win7 (apart from the nameless
    button in the top-left-corner which is now named File (in the German Version
    'Datei') but it is the same version as in Win7).

    Yet once again, there's an annoying problem with the storage/folder/index
    system.

    In the quick viewy, i use the folder "alle junk mails" (all junk mails of
    all accounts) and i regularily dump it.
    Right now, i have one message remaining in the all-junk-folder, and when i
    try to delete it, i get the German message "Ein unbekannter Fehler ist
    aufgetretet" (simply just meaning: an unknown error has occured!).
    Certainly i went into maintainance and set the compression of folders to 1,
    went off-line, closed WLM, reopened it, still ... not possible to delete the
    message.

    Is there some trick or do i just have to wait for hours or days for
    re-indexing etc. until wlm will let me?

    Just right now, the problem "went away" and i was able to delete the
    unwanted message in the all-junk-folder.
    Still: is there a plausible axplaination or some way to prevent these things
    from happening?

    Sometimes it takes a while for things to catch up.
    Fyi...Quick View is a search function and only provides a view of items existing elsewhere in the message store.

    Quick View auto-updates on a different cycle than WLM's Indexing thus some variation may exist.

    For best control and prevention....It's always best to manage and perform file movement operations (copy, move, delete, etc) from
    within the folder in the respective email account.
