My plan is I have single windows 2003 domain controller & I am going to join windows 2008 domain controller as additional domain controller after that If I demote windows 2003 domain controller will my windows 2008 domain controller work fine?

Actually I want all active directory stuff on my windows 2008 server & after that I want do discard my old windows 2003 server.

    Please suggest.

    Thanks in advance.

In my own opinion, i will suggest to follow this steps:

    - install w2k8 server, DCPROMO, DNS ...
    - Move FSMO Roles from w2k3 to w2k8 server
    - Upgrade mode of AD to W2k8 native
    - DCPROMO w2k3 server to remove AD from it

    Review AD stills healthy.

    Good Luck
