I recently did a clean install of Vista Home Premium and copied my backed up
favorites to the new install. I know previously, using IE7, that when i
opened a favorites folder and or then a subfolder and then came back and
opened a different favorites folder and or subfolder, the previously opened
folder and subfolder would automatically close or collapse. Now that I have
done the clean install this no longer happens. Everything just stays open
and if I want folders to collapse I have to do this manually or they will
reset to all closed if and when machine is restarted. How do I get folders
and subfolders to automatically collapse once a new folder and or subfolder
    is opened?

How did you back-up your Favorites and "copy" them to the new install?

Thanks for the response. I will try this. I routinely just copy the
favorites folder to my USB memory stick. If and when I need them I just copy
them back to the favorites folder.

    c:\users\your name\favorites

    1. Export the Favorites via IE File > Import and Export > Export Favorites.

    2. Import the Favorites via IE File > Import and Export > Import Favorites.

Import or export favorites in Internet Explorer:
