Re: HPGL Plotter Driver

  1. HPGL or HPGL/2?

There is a HPGL/2 plotter driver coming with the Windows DDK.

Actually there are two types of plotter drivers since XP. One is the MSPLOT
example as a monolithic driver and there is also one based on UNIDRV.

Is that what you wanted to use ore is it even easier? If you just want to
add a plotter there are drivers coming with XP for example:
    Manufacturer: HP
    Printer: Hewlett-Packard HP-GL/2 Plotter.

  2. I am not quite sure what the "Mimaki Program" is. Please describe how you use
the Mimaki Program to send somthing to the Ioline plotter. If I understand
it right the Ioline plotter is connected to you PC and you are running
Windows XP. So then you need to install Ioline driver on windows XP by just
adding a new printer (using the printer wizard). I guess that happened
already. Additionally you have a Mimaki Program running. So how do you send
something to the plotter in this Mimaki Program?

  3. Thank you very much for all the information. So the Mimaki add-in in Corel
allows you to print to your Ioline Plotter. But you would like to go directly
to Ioline without the add-in. Is this what you ask for?

In Corel if you just go to "Print" and then select a Printer. Do you have
the Mimaki driver as a selection? What happens if you bypass the add-in?

As your original question was "Is there a HPGL Driver for XP?" it seems to
me that you do not have any driver from Mimaki that apears under the list of
printers instead the Mimaki add-in uses some other way to send data to the
plotter which in your case is not a Mimaki but a Ioline.

Press on Start and look out for "Settings" and then "Printers". There click
"Add Printer". Follow the wizard. XP comes with some HPGL drivers under the
manufacturer "HP". Just try whether you can send from Corel directly to the
Ioline without going over the Mimaki Add-In.

  4. Have you tried to install a HPGL/2 driver with the driver wizard?
