Trouble with address book

Discussion in 'Windows Live Mail' started by Jeffrey Needle, Mar 5, 2013.

  1. When I display a contact in my address book, it displays three e-mail
addresses -- work, personal and other. The "other" address was pulled
from somewhere -- I don't know where -- and I need to get rid of it. But
when I edit the record, only the personal and work e-mail addresses are
shown. I've searched through the entire address book for another
instance of the e-mail address to see if I can find the record it's
pulling it from, but no luck -- the e-mail address only appears in that
one record. Why isn't that e-mail address displaying on the edit
screen? And how can I get rid of it? Very frustrating. Thanks.

    More info needed.
How are you operating WLM ?
    - with a Live ID signon
    - without a Live ID signon

What version of WLM is in use ?
    - 2009, 2011, 2012
....and what is the build number ?

Is the one record (with the 'other' address for a person with a Hotmail type email address - Hotmail.com, Live.com, Msn.com, or
    Outlook.com) or a Facebook account ?

Finally, how are you editing the contact ?
    - please explain the route taken in WLM to call up and edit that one specific contact

  3. I'm just realizing I'm in the wrong newsgroup. Yuck, it sucks being
old. I'm using Outlook.com as my mail client, receiving mail from my
    gmail account using pop.

Sorry about that. I'll try to figure out where to ask the question
    correctly.

There is no newsgroup for Outlook.com/Hotmail. You will find discussions here:
