Thumbnail display does not show image

Recently thumbnail image display on Windows Explorer began showing stock
pictures instead of actual images.
How can this be repaired?

The problem has been resolved. I have just found that "Always show
icons, nver thumbnails" was check marked for the folder optios. I do not
have any idea why this setting was changed.
