thumbnail display problem in Vista

In folders containing my jpeg photo's some files show as a thumbnail image of
the photo but some just show a generic icon. I cannot understand why jpeg
files in the same folder would display differently or how I can change them
so they all show a thumbnail of the actual photo. I am using vista 32bit. Any
advise would be most welcome

Thanks

Set the Control Panel/Folder Options to show hidden files, then delete the
'Thumbs.db' file in that folder, and refresh.

I rarely see this "problem". Usually after several hours of seriously
intensive work on my part, but its nothing that can't be solved.

When viewing a folder that exhibits these symptoms, just press the <F5>
key on your keyboard to Refresh the current view. That should fix it.

Hi Lou,

Try refreshing the window (F5) first.

If that does not help, then you can also use Disk Cleanup to clean out
the Thumbnail cache to reset them and have Vista reload them.

I keep seeing this problem and I didn't know anyone couldn't fix it.
It's easy and you can help others.
1.Go to the picture file with problem.
2.Click tools and then Folder Options.
3.At the tab "General" put the bullet to windows classic folders
And put bullet in open each folder in the same window. Do not touch se
default or the mess will be back.
Click on the views button and keep clicking till the pictures get larg
enough.
(if tools isn't there then click on organize go to layout and toggl
the menu bar and it will be on top)
You can't break it, you can't make it worse than it is -uh yes you ca
=system restore ...all those things up on top do something it's more fu
to find it than using the computer. Hope this helps and remeber hav
fun, I don't know how it reset but I do know my A.I. is creepy

I have this same problem but none of the fixes listed have helped. D
you have any other suggestions on what I can do to fix this issue? M
computer worked fine for the first month and then as I added more image
from my camera, it stopped working. I can view my images under Window
Photo Gallery or if I use the USB cord from my camera. But any image
that are saved on my computer will not show up. The images don't show u
when I insert my SD card as well... The SD card works fine on my camer
and another laptop.

I called Dell Support and they said it's an issue with how I am savin
the image from my camera. I don't want to pay the $240 to fix this no
do I want to do a system restore

When I hit F5, the images flash for a second and then go back to th
generic jpeg image icon.

Please help! Thank you!!

Run system in safe mode and navigate to folder

*C:\Users\<your account>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer

and there you'll find 6 *.db files ->remove them + restart
