Tilde Key will not work on games in Vista 32bit

Hi, i have a new HP pc desktop and the Tilde Key will not work i have
tried everything i know different keyboard i do know its windows Vista
because i have played these games on XP with no problems,so whats
happening Microsoft.

Have you been into regional settings to change the key board or just used a
different bit of hardware

Thanx William,tried the regional settings this is a brand new
H.P.9180uk-a desktop,i have tried the brand new keyboard that came with
the pc and the Tilde Key doe's not work with that Keyboard, also i have
a brand new Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard and the Tilde Key still won't
function to bring down the console,the tilde key works O.K. on notepad
also works O.K. in microsoft works, its the console in my games it doe's
not recognize the Tilde Key,the games are for to many to mention all
heres a couple Oblivion,Two Worlds both RPG's and on windows XP i have
no trouble with the Tilde Key,i have used this Logitech G15 on both
games in windows XP all was well,but in Vista the Tilde key will not
work and thats why i think its a microsoft problem!

I've had this issue when using Windows XP Media Center 2005. I've since
upgraded to Windows Vista Home Premium, which is on a completely different
system. The only things in common are media center and the MCE remote. While
reading through other gaming threads, some suggest unplugging the remote (if
applicable) and the '~' key then works.

I do think Microsoft should address this issue, since it is their
hardware/software conflicting with games; Crysis, Oblivion, etc. Unpluging or
disabling a USB is not a solution.

Thanx Dan, I also think that Microsoft should carry the blame after all
they have the money and the brains, another thing is my library of games
is just about DEAD and that library cost me a small fortune just because
i moved over to Vista via, a new pc in April, i also think i should be
compensated via microsoft because of my loss.see ya Reptaker.
