There's some way to get your open applications to tile across the
desktop in small, independent (roughly 200 pixel wide) slabs.

It was accidentally done on my system by pressing some command key
combination, but I have no idea how. Pointers?

Hi Bob,

right click the Taskbar ( the black bar at the bottom ) on an empty
part - just to the left of the clock etc. icons. will do.

A menu pops up - you can select to stack or cascade or side by side -
whatever you prefer. How big they display depends how many windows you
have open.

To undo it, rt click Taskbar again and select undo

Hope this helps

Have you got a Microsoft Mouse? The default action with the IntelliPoint
driver, for the middle mouse button, is to do something like that, IIRC. I
never use that myself, and change it back to Scroll, as that action is
pretty lame compared to Exposé in MacOSX.

It's really sad that Vista has the pathetic 3D Flip, in response to MacOSX's
Exposé. It is such a great thing on Macs, and should be blatantly copied by
Microsoft.

Watch the QuickTime video, if you are not familiar with it:

ss.

Would you be talking about the selection panel with alt+tab

Not sureif you already figured this out, but in case you have not,
just had this happen to me too - holding down the scroll button on you
mouse will make that appear. Just hold it down for a second and whe
you release it, you will see the little open window pics you mentioned

I fat-fingered my keyboard this morning and had something similar
happen, only it laid the tiles down like a hand of cards, diagonally.
You can then scroll through your desktop's open windows, rolling through
them like a waterfall while having a nice bird's eye view, until you
arrive at the one you want.

Thanks to all of your posts I was inspired to try and recreate what I
did. It was a nice desktop "view" change.

Press and -hold- the *-START-* key, then press the *-TAB-* key. For
scrolling, just keep the START key depressed and cycle through using the
TAB key.

Hope this adds some variety and I greatly appreciate all the time so
many of you take in helping out guys like me.
