Hi I am having trouble installing downloaded updates to my computer. I tried
to past my WindowsUpdate.log so that you may have better knowledge as to why
my problem is occuring but apparently it's too big and I don't know which
part is of it is needed to show the correct information. The error code
listed is: 0X80070057. I have also tried the two other post for solutions
from Patty and another gentlemen and neither reg fix worked. Thank You for
your undivided attention to my delima.

Another line in the log file that looks important is: Regulation:
{7971F918-A847-4430-9279-4A52D1EFE18D} - Update
2D891B46-3C12-4277-9867-952E46B775B0 is "Priority" regulated and can NOT
download. Sequence 7191 vs AcceptRate 729.
2008-11-15 20:11:23:390 1244 cb0 DnldMgr * Update is not allowed to
download due to regulation.

Absent any serious numerical Errors in your windowsupdate.log, you may be
seeing a delay caused by excessive demand on the servers ("Update is not
allowed to download due to regulation" =>
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910340). It can take up to 7 days or more
(sometimes much more) for all Automatic Update users to get new updates when
so many have been released on the second Tuesday of a given month.

You can try downloading/installing the updates via Windows/Microsoft Update
(WinXP) or running Windows Update manually (Vista) instead: Understand that
by doing so, you're pushing all the Automatic Updates users further back in
the queue (which may explain, at least in part, why Automatic Updates hasn't
brought them in for you yet).

1. Enable Automatic Updates.

2. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943144

Tip: Install WinXP SP3 then check for other updates.
