Too long time to open My Computer folder

It takes some 3 minutes to open My Computer folder. The searching torchlight
animation is shown all this time. The OS is Windows XP x64 Pro, laptop with
Turion TL-56 processor. I cannot figure out the reason for this. The other
tasks and applications run quite fast.
