Too many updates

I have automatic updates to notify me before installing. One KB832483 keeps
appearing, I give it the go-ahead, it says installation done. Then within 30
seconds it appears again. It does not prompt a re-start, but I tried
restarting the last time. It is back again. This has been going on for
several days.

Can anyone explain this?

Could you please tell us which Windows version you are using?
The update has been originally released on January 13 2004(!)

I have Windows 2000, Professional, NT Technology.

I was not aware of the update system until last week. When I did turn it
on, a batch of 58 updates appeared and all were accepted with no fuss.
Since then, this single update persists.

I would try installing MDAC 2.8 SP1 then
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...0-3a1afbd5922e
and revisit Windows Update afterwards to download and install
the updates released in the meantime for MDAC 2.8 SP1.
