I have Vista/Office 2007. Cannot find how to get to Toolbars. Bought Office
2007 for Dummies and they advise to go to View then Toolbars, but I do not
see Toolbars under View. Thanks!

office 2007 does not have toolbars

it has the "RIBBON"... that is a new kind of way to display buttons

If however you want toolbars because you are used to the old way of using
word, there is a program that adds toolbars to word

http://www.addintools.com/english/menuoffice/

this is shareware..it means you can try it for a while and they if you like
it you can buy it.

There is a free toolbar, somewhat like the one the used to come with MS
Office, available at:

The book cannot be for office 2007 and tell you to do to VIEW> then toolbars

You are making a mistake, that book cannot be for 2007 because there are not
menus and toolbars like that

see my other post for a way to get toolbars back if you need them

Open up Word 2007 and look in the top upper left hand corner. There
you'll find the "quick launch toolbar' which is completely customizable.
It's very easy to use.

I tried that program... but it didn't fix the reason i want old toolbars
back... i use the shortcuts that came with the toolbars, and i memorized my
favorite shortcuts. this program made the toolbars take forever to do
something. like inserting a symbols:
office 2003: alt>I>S
office 2007, ribbon menu: alt>N>U>M
office 2007, added toolbars: alt>Q>Q>I>S>M

which shortcut would you rather type from memory, assuming you use it enough
to memorize???
