"Always Green",
Thank you for your question. This newsgroup is dedicated to questions about
Windows Update. However, since you asked, and assuming you have permissions
to create folders on the hard drive:
The easiest fix for this is to create a folder on the hard drive to save all
these items to:
1. Click Start, click Run, then type cmd <Enter>.
2. Once the command window opens, go to the root of the directories by
typing: cd \ <Enter>
3. Create the folder (example: fun) by typing: md fun <Enter>
Now, you need to save the files there:
Contacts in Email:
1. In Outlook 2003, click File
2. Click "Import and Export"
3. Click "Export to a file," then click the "Next" button.
4. Click "Comma Separated Values (Windows)" then click the "Next" button.
5. In the "Select folder to export from" select the "Contacts" then click
the "Next" button.
6. Click the Browse button, and find your directory you created earlier.
7. Insert a carefully chosen name for this file and click OK.
Files from My Documents:
1. Open your My Documents folder.
2. Select the files by clicking and holding down the <CTRL> key.
3. Open the folder you created earlier by clicking Start then Run, then type
C:\fun (or whatever the name is).
4. Click OK
5. When the folder window opens, type <CTRL> V, which will paste the files
into the folder.
Your friend can then open those files by opening the folder himself, or
importing the contacts list to his Outlook 2003.
Please let us know if you have any issues with downloading from Windows
Update.
Sincerely,
--
