Transferring WLM storage folders

Can anyone tell me the best way to transfer WLF storage folders from my old
laptop (Windows Xp, Norton Internet Security) to my new laptop (Vista
Premium, Norton Anti-Virus, Windows firewall)? I have tried exporting the
folders to a USB flash memory on the old laptop and then importing on the new
one, but the imported folder is empty.

Hi Peter,

The problem was that WLM would not export directly to a folder on a USB
flash memory stick. Exporting first to a folder on the desktop and then
copying to the USB flash memory worked fine. The only grumble that I have
now is that the folders containing the messages are buried inside Storage
Folders>Imported Folders>Storage Folders>Imported Folders>Folders Containing
Messages. Not sure why this happened or how to pull the folders containing
the messages out so that they just sit in the first Storage Folder listed??

Thanks a lot for your interest :-)

Hi, Peter - and Roger.

Don't drag the folder from Imported Items. Highlight the folder in Imported
items so that you can see all the messages there. Then Select All (Ctrl+A)
and drag the whole group of individual messages to the Storage Folder where
you want them to be. Then delete that Imported Items folder.

In fact, you probably can delete the entire Imported Items folder tree in
one step, once you've moved all the messages out of the bottom rung on that
ladder. Well, two steps if you are impatient: The deleted folder tree will
stay in Deleted Items until you "permanently" delete it. Or you can just
wait until you close WLM if you set Tools | Options | Advanced | Maintenance
to Empty messages from the "Deleted Items" folder on exit.
