Transparent Icon!

My downloads folder icon, on the desktop has become transparent,
with a large "down arrow" at its right-hand edge.
I don't see anything unusual in the folder, and I can find no explanation
for this appearance!
I thought it might mean that a file in the folder was ready to be written
out to a CD or DVD, but there is no indication of that.
Is this an indication that Vista Home Premium doesn't like my downloads???
Is it telling me to follow the arrow beyond the river Styx???
My inquiring mind needs to know!
Any help would be appreciated.

Dave

Right click on desktop and chose Personalize then Windows Color and
Appearance. Take the tick out of Enable Transparency. It may let you rest
peaceful.

Don't take it personally. It's by design. Mine's semi-transparent too. If
you want to go in the opposite direction to beyond the river Styx, then
there's also an up arrow version in

C:\Windows\system32\imageres.dll

Hi Ian,

Thanks for the info, however, what I did was to delete the (shortcut) icon
and created a new one on the desktop
from the original folder. This solved the problem. I still think it had
something to do with "burning to disk",
as the fat down-arrow is used for that purpose, although there was nothing
in that folder awaiting a burn!
Probably just a "VA" (Vista Anomaly.)

Dave
