Greetings,

In some cases, Messenger might actually be crashing when it's exciting , or a third-party
Messenger tool you have running might be closing Messenger oddly. In most cases it's pretty
safe to ignore.

In a standard environment though, the icon is removed as expected, it's not an actual known
bug or anything.

Ok, you're right about another app causing it. Logitech Deskto
messenger! If I exit the Logitech app first, msn exits correctly

Thanks for your help. :-

Jonathan,

It is a known bug...I dont know why you say its not considering its
been listed multiple times on the Microsoft Connect site, I myself have
the same issue where messenger stays in the tray after exiting and
occurs in each any only 9.0 and 9.1 Beta Messengers offered to Microsoft
Butterfly`s..-.-It was reported some months ago but has yet to be
resolved since they are busy releasing Wave 3

It only affects the Beta messengers and also patched messengers.

Steven

Well it's non-repro. But "by the book" anyway, this shouldn't be discussed here, so best if
this thread ends now.
