Hi,

I could not install Trend Micro 7.0 onto Windows Vista. Trend Micro
previously works fine on Windows Xp & Windows 2k.

Thanks in advance.

The version of Trend AV that works on Vista is 2007. Are you trying to use
OfficeScan 7.0? It has not been tested or developed or Vista. There are
enough changes under the hood to make it likely that it won't work.

Just because it worked in XP and Win2k doesn't mean it's Vista compatible.
None of the XP AV programs are. Trend has a new Vista compatible version.

Not true. eTrust AV works just fine.

The XP version without any changes for Vista worked fine in Vista? I
recollect it didn't.

It did not. It was updated very early on for Vista because it is what
Microsoft uses internally.

Trend's corporate versions will not be "Vista" ready until prob
June-ish. They have a beta. PcCillian 2007 is the only Trend version
that supports Vista at this time.

Is anyone aware of an up-to-date table that lists which AV programs are Vista
ready, and which run on 64-bit? There was a list about a year ago but it has
not been updated for quite some time.

I gathered this information on Thursday but I'm not going to say my list
is totally complete:

http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page3.html#2-15-07

It's under Item #2. Since this was for an email report I send out to
clients, my comments are subjective.

A little buried but still good. I think we should create a page that is kept
up to date with this info. I can host it or you can.
