I have Auto download turned on, but says my computer is up to date but have
not received SP2, When I look at history update SP2 download was cancelled.
But am receiving other updates, has anyone got any clues.

Hi

I never uses Windows Update to install a service pack.

To install SP2 without using WU:

SP2 is available at the Microsoft Download Center
(standalone "network" version, 266 MB):

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...5-9e368d3cdb5a

If you think that download is to large, you can get the same
file on a CD from Microsoft.

The Windows XP SP2 CD order point:

Also, before installing SP2, you should take a look at the
followng sites:

What to Know Before You Download and Install Windows XP Service Pack 2

How to successfully install Windows XP Service Pack 2.

For folders you can consider deleting and other disk cleanup tips
after a SP2 installation, take a look here:

It's been said here a number of times. Order the CD from
Microsoft or resellers. Even magazines dealing with
computer stuff delivered this month SP2 in CD.

Hi

Yes, you can use it on a stand alone computer as well, it is
exactly the same file that is on the SP2 CD that you can order
from here:
