Trouble installing Office 97 I got w/my previous computer into new

I got a new computer & wanted to install the Office 97 discs I got w/my
previous computer but got the message" Htmlmarq.ocx was unable to register
itself in the system registry" To my knowledge I am the only person
registered under this software registry. Need advice on how to install
software. Thank you.

I doubt you're legally entitled to move the Office installation from one PC
to another if it came with your old PC - is the disk marked 'Only for sale
with a new PC'? - if so, then it's an OEM one, which is limited to being
installed on the hardware that it was supplied with (that's why it was so
cheap!), and the OEM involved may have locked it to the BIOS in the original
PC.
