Trouble installing Win XP SP2- Error Code: 0x87FF054F

I keep trying to install Windows XP SP2 and it keeps failing saying that an
internal error occored. And there's an error code 0x87FF054F. Does anyone
know what this means and how to fix it?

Are you installing SP2 from Windows Update, the full downloaded SP2, or
the SP2 CD ? Suggest downloading the full package if you're on broadband:

Save it, do not run it from it's present location.
Follow the steps laid out for " Installing SP2 ".

If the installation fails again -

Scroll down to the " Service Pack 2 installation log files " heading.
Turn on Verbose logging as per the steps laid out and try the
installation again.
Post back with the section(s) of the setupapi.log that contain error
codes/messages. Start at the bottom of the log for the most recent
entries and work your way back up.
