trouble opening .pps file

I have newly installed Office Home & Studen 2007, including PowerPoint and
PowerPoint Viewer on this 64 bit Vista System. I can't open a pps
slideshow. I get a message saying there is no association for this
extension. I looked and the association is there and should work, but
doesn't.

Does anyone know what might be wrong? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi, Lucille -- I hope someone comes up with an answer for this one, as I
have the identical problem! Have to open PowerPoint and then click on the
file, as the association (which, like yours, is there) doesn't work.
