I reformatted my hard drive. When I went to install updates it did not update
the flash update, but I solved that problem by downloading a newer version of
flash. But when I went back to Microsoft update page and tried to see if
there were any updates I need I got this message: Files required to use
Windows Update are no longer registered or installed on your computer. (no
error code)To continue: and these choices: Register or reinstall the files
for me now (Recommended)
Let me read about more steps that might be required to solve the problem
I tried the first one and read through the steps under the second one. I am
finding nothing that will help me. I also tried downloading from where it
said get microsoft updater and that did not work. There is a flash about
something about active x also, which I am pretty sure that I installed from
your site when the pop up came. Also dowloaded windows defender and have
problems with dowloading definitions. I went to the site reccomended from
here and the first thing they suggest to try is do a windows update, which of
course I can not do. I am hoping some one could help me.
