When i try downloading a torrent everything is an 17.3kb applicati

Hi
I hope you can help me, basically whenever i try to download anything even
though the file is for example 43mb it will only say that the application is
17.3kb, this is happening with everything i try downloading, i'm not very
technically gifted so i would appreciate anybodys help or advice!

What happens if you attempt do download something from other sources
such as Microsoft?

This is not a Vista problem. Contact the software developer of the
utility you are using for torrents.

And for the record, downloading torrents is a morally abiguous task, as
99.9% of such downloads are used for the distribution of pirated goods.

Try installing bittorrent or utorrent

Hi
I just tried downloading from Microsoft and it was fine, if i buy a song
from itunes it works also, is it something to do with the size prhaps?

That's my guess as well, GE.

Most likely has no torrent software installed and is downloading the
"shortcut" to the torrent itself, since I'm pretty sure torrent shortcuts
are 17.3 KB.

I've tried bittorrent, utorrent and bitlord but they all say the same thing?

That proves windows can download so the problem is elsewhere.
ask in a newsgroup or forum dealing with torrents.
There you will find others using the same program and probably the
resolution to your problem.

Hmm, what is downloaded is like a Link, once that is on the desktop
double click it again... be very careful unless there an MD5 checksum or
it's an official site as per any peer to peer download.

Question: When you click a torrent link in internet explorer, do you
SAVE it and then open it, or do you OPEN it directly after clicking the
link?

SAVEing it first usually does not work...
