My original problem was "I could not get on the internet except in safe mode
and the windows update site would not work at all. After 10 days of speaking
with reps from MS my ISP and my computer manufacturer and going through
several uninstalls and reinstalls I figured I would try the opposite of what
everyone was suggesting.
Their suggestion was to disable all non Microsoft services and all start up
items, uninstall 3rd party anti-virus and firewall software.
***my Fix*** I did exactly the opposite I reinstalled all my third party
software and enabled all services and startup items. Walla everything works
like a charm. I'm even running all my ay own anti-virus and firewall software
along with the XP firewall.
