Trying automatic update XP (answering I'have no admin rights)

When I'm trying to update my XP desktop computer Ii get the answer form IE
that I had to be an administrator on the computer. But Iam the administrator.
I don''t know how to solve the problem.
I know it have nothing to the with my connection to the internet because I
can update XP on my notebook.

Have anyone suggestions.
