Trying to install Office Enterprise 2007.

:cry: Getting very frustrated here. Thinking I may have to call MS
support

Have to Remove Student Home Office 2007 Trial(non-commercial)first.
Cannot remove through programs, Ccleaner or Revo Uninstaller. Somehow it
mysteriously just went from "Trial" to "non commercial Trial"?

I also had trouble when I originally installed the triall, they turned
it off after a week, til I emailed them and they sent me a link.
Probably Reman issue again, they probably thought I already had my trial
period.

Getting same 1402 error as many others here...since I cannot uninstall
through Programs...going by "Article ID: 928218"....tried 4 times.

I should point out this is a reman computer and I did have Office 2000
on here before, before trying out the trial. May be some remnants left
over.

So there may also be possible remnants of Office 2000. Can I run the
Installer Cleanup Utility(290301)after removing Office 2007, or will
that mess up other programs? I'd rather not use it. What a mess....I
know!

I believe Error 1402 is pointing at:
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\.pcb\PCB File\ShellNew]
although it says "UNKNOWN" rather than "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" in the
error report that would be where the key is, wouldn't it? Or is there
another key [xx??_XX??_XX??\.pcb\PCBFile\ShellNew] somewhere?
Since MS doesn't want you to know where it is, in the error report.

Said I don't have permission, so I was able to give full permission to
".pcb"
but still same error. However when clicking on "PCB File" I get error
cannot be opened...Access denied. I don't see "ShellNew" under that
string either.
Should I modify the PCB File and add that to it?

Now when following the instructions in Article ID: 928218, I noticed
some discrepancies. And missing some keys: (this is in the order article
is set up)

1. In the Installer Folder Home and Student office msi file
(11e087b.msi) will not uninstall. Can I just delete it?

2. Office 11 was also in Shared Folder. Should I REMOVE it?

So as it seems, I have NONE of these folders under "CurrentVersion"
but under Current Version1" and "Current Version2"
I have not deleted them yet.

recovery disks, but

I would imagine the Current Version 1 and 2 files will still be
there...Reman and all.

Maybe if I just remove everything that has to do with Office,
I'll be able to install my Enterprise 2007. Hmmm?
I am especially suspicious of Current Versions 1 and 2.

In my experience, following that, making sure that you shift+delete any and
all office associated files in your C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office folder
or whatever drive's program files it's installed to, and despite the fact
that the KB articles doesn't say it's for Office 2007, I use this
anyway--the WUCU. It won't uninstall anything but does get rid of corrupt
..dlls and registry orphan strings that are cluttering the uninstall and
future install path:

I had trouble uninstalling the trial as well I remember, and here's what I
did and posted back in April 2007--it worked for me then, and this is what I
posted on theMSFT Public Office Setup group (including the registry
workarounds I discovered I had to use):

File>Export>Sub key or Entire Registry radio button on the lower left>save

On page 5 of that Article, this was a bit *confusing*....maybe cause my
brain is getting exhausted.

#3 in particular...sounds like I'm to delete the entire Uninstall
key....that can't be right. That would uninstall all programs under
there.

FOLLOWING VALUE ASSIGNED TO IT:

4.NAME: UNINSTALLSTRING
DATA: FILE_NAME PATH\OFFICE SETUP CONTROLLER\SETUP.EXE PATH
Now it doesn't wouldn't want me to Export and save the entire
Uninstall, kinda worded weird.

I only exported and saved the ones that point to 0FF1CE. which I have 4
under there, that I found with Office Setup Controller in the path.

Update:

In Uninstall or Change a Programs: MS Office Home and Student 2007,
Microsoft Office Proofing and Microsoft Office Shared MUI are still
there. They also do not have their Icons, just a file icon...so not
totally gone yet? How do I delete them?

I can't even click and delete.

Even when you click on them the "Uninstall' or "Change" doesn't show up
in the task bar area.

Don't I still want the Microsoft Office Shared MUI, or will Enterprise
reinstall it?

I was pretty thorough with the directions in the article. Followed it
to a T.

Will the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility(290301) take care of the
rest? I'm afraid of the warning about using on 2007 Office products.
Heard it can and heard it can't be used with 2007.

Seems that all the Office Files are gone from under the "Current
Version001" and "Current Version002" now also.

Any Suggestions? Is it safe to try to install now? Or do I need to get
rid of those useless icons? :sarc:

Guess I'm afraid to try another install. I'm gonna give it a rest for

Hi--

Did you try all my modfication suggestions I gave you and did you shift+
delete every file and folder related to Office in your C:\Programs\Microsoft
Office folder and anything else in C:\Program Files related remotelyt to
Office any edition since you seem to have installed more than one Office
edition on your box at one time or other.

You can save the reg keys are all the changes you make in the registry if
you like anywhere you want to browse to. I usually save them in documents,
but you can make a file anywhere, call it anything and save to it. It's
just a Save dialogue box pure and simple.

They are only having you save keys and if the key is named uninstall path
it's still only a reg key; you aren't saving an uninstall when you're saving
reg keys or subkeys.

Don't worry about what you can't uninstall at Add/Remove.

There isn't a "warning" per se that I've seen about not using WUCU with
Office 2007. I've used it many times with it. However, understand what it
is as I've said. WUCU does not uninstall any of anything. It is not
meant to uninstall programs. It is meant to clean up the path for them to
uninstall and install and it does this fine for Windows 2007. It does not
directly uninstall the program, it destroys corrupt .dlls and registry
stings in the way of your uninstall and subsequent reinstalls. I've used it
several times for Office 2007 and it worked fine. Whether I needed to use
it to get the trial uninstalled or Office 2007 uninstalled, I don't know.

The directions I gave you to get the trial uninstalled when it's stubborn as
in your case work perfectly and using my mods help.

If you've followed that uninstall MSKB including doing exactly what I
described as to the mods (provided you have those keys or subkeys) and
***uninstalled every Office related file/and folder in C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office then you're done and I'd try installing your Office
Enterprisse 2007.***

I don't know what your AV program is, but I'd turn it off for the time
period you use to install that Office edition, just in case.

I'd use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility as well. Then try to install.

If you've shift+ deleted all Office related files and folders, they're gone.
I wouldn't worry about them. You didn't mention having any entries in
Add/Remove from Office 2K.

You just tried what? To install? What's the exact error? And what do you
mean about "no permission?" No permission from where to do what?

Don't be afraid to try another install of your Office if you've done all the
things I told you to do, and done a restart afterwards. The install should
work fine. You're not going to get many suggestions in this group although
I understand perfectly how you related it to a setup group for Vista.

You can post in the MSFT Public Office setup group, but again my post was
what a lot of people there used when they were having trouble getting rid of
the Office trial and the Office Betas whose uninstall were sometimes
problematic.

Good luck, and let me know how it goes. I know the feeling of working on
software problems for a long time. They almost become human to you, and you
lose track of time and want to win.

Same error would be the 1402 first error...as above. See if I can't post
the image.

I can't find anything that may be related to either Office 2007 or
2000, except in the recycle bin....I know I had a heck of a time
installing it in Vista. Nothing like this tho.

I granted full permission to it when I first got it, I am the only user
and admin....I also changed all the permissions in regedit to allow me
also full permissions and created special permissions in all

Another website suggested to turn UAC on, tried it that way.

So running the 290301 windows Installer Cleanup Utility should work
alright.

went thru it 5 times.
