trying to open java based chat application?

when i try to open voice chat (java based app) like http://adbeach.com, IE
restarts.

Your Java installation might be kaput. Download it from http://www.java.com/

i did try to download it of the original website but the problem still
presist.. as far as i know vista has major capabilities problems with java !!

Can't blame Vista for this one. I use E-Trade's Market Trader which is
running all day long that is Java based watching dozens of stocks in
real time plus live news updates, doing online trading, chart
generation, market depth from multiple exchanges all in real time all
at once in a sea of different windows is far more involved than some
cheesy chat program. So if Vista didn't do Java right surely it would
be showing up for traders.

Look in Control Pane, Programs and Features. Should be a line for Java
6 Update dated 3/21/08 for 136 MB. As far as I know that's the latest
version of Java.

update 7 is the latest and i had problems installing it so i had to format
windows from the CD. anyway, it doesnt work out !!

I don't see the original post, but many java based chat applications work
like pop-ups.
Sometimes you have to hold the CTRL key down while clicking the link that
launches chat to get it to open.
Once the application opens in a new window, release the CTRL key.
