Trying out Windows Mail as a usenet reader. How to set to bottom post?

It defaults to putting the cursor at the top of the post I am replying to.
No Microsoft, BAD, bottom post is and always has been considered good
netiquette. Is there a way to change it so the curser goes to the bottom of
the post instead?

Only considered good by some, not me personally.

In Windows Mail: Menu bar (ALT if not visible) > Tools > Options, Advanced tab,
check Compose reply at the bottom...

Can't we all just get along? Let's average it out and all start
middle-posting.

I much prefer the cursor at the top of the reply for two reasons,

1. It encourages the user to go through the post snipping irrelevent
parts and
2. It encourages interleaved replies such as this.

Good netiquette also requires snipping, see above comments.

Most default to top posting and it is only those who wish to control that
say top or bottom posting is good or bad. But if you wish to change it go
Tools/Options/Advance Tab and put a tick for bottom reply.

Of course, that's YOUR preference.

1. The problem with MS newsreaders is that if you top post, the program
still uses a delimiter, which should only be used when bottom posting.
A delimiter was never intended to remove everything below it, only a
signature and a few optional lines below it.

2. Many users only show Unread messages in their newsreaders, rather
than threaded view, especially on very active groups such as this one.

3. When someone replies to a top poster that is using an MS newsreader,
relevant text below it is removed. Rather than snipping, it takes out
EVERYTHING. That is poor programming, especially when there isn't even
an option to turn the delimiter off when top posting.

I use Thunderbird and if the setting is to top post, no delimiter will
be added. That's the proper way to do it.

Didn't know that although now that you mention it, I do seem to recall
something like that?

I haven't used a MS newsreader or email client since Windows 3.1 so I
may be a bit rusty on them... I can't even remember what Windows 3.1
had for mail and/or news, I don't think they did? I think it was all
BBSs in those days?
