Trying to remove xp service pack 2

In trying to uninstall eiether by control panel or $Ntservicepackunistall$ -
I get a error msg that my installer will not display so I cannot continue the
uninstall - Can anyone help please?

Did you reboot and try in Safe Mode?
Otherwise some or all of the necessary uninstall files are damaged or
missing.

I was not sucessful that way eiether.

Thanks. I was trying to use those instructions... (How I found out about the
hidden file) but nothing I tried has worked. I can even set computer back to
the earlier date - I installed the update 9/04...

Then you will need to solve your problem another way...What is the actual
problem?

A Repair Installation will effectively remove the Service Pack.
Once run, the only Service Pack installed will be what is on the CD, if any:
